Virtual Trainings and Clinics FAQs
Why sign up for a Virtual Training or Clinic?
Virtual trainings and clinics give you access to expert coaching from the safety of your own home. Participants connect with coaches via Zoom and receive training, instruction, and real-time feedback, just like you would in an in-person training session. Plus, you get a pair of adidas D.O.N. Issue #2 shoes and an adidas basketball.
What is the difference between a virtual training and a virtual clinic?
Virtual trainings are 30-minute sessions where participants connect with coaches to receive drills, instruction and feedback. Trainings are available as either private one-on-one sessions or semi-private sessions with no more than four participants with a single coach. Virtual clinics are similar to traditional basketball clinics. They are open to 10-60 participants per session and run for 75 minutes. Boys and girls will work with multiple coaches to receive instruction and feedback.
What is different about a virtual offering compared to in-person offering?
Virtual trainings and clinics provide participants with basketball skills sessions with a Camps + Clinics coach via Zoom. While you won’t be working with a coach in person, you’ll still get specialized instruction and immediate feedback from one of our high-level coaches.
What equipment do I need at home to participate?
You will need a basketball, space to dribble, a device that is running Zoom (laptop, phone, or tablet), a good internet connection, four cones that can be used for drills and a water bottle. A basketball hoop is not necessary to participate in a training. However, if you do have access to a hoop, try and set up where you will be able to use it.
How will I receive my D.O.N. Issue #2 Shoes and basketball that are included with Virtual Trainings and Clinics?
You will select from two options while registering for your training: shipping the items to your address or in-person pickup. Shipping costs an additional $5, while pickup is free. If you select the pickup option, your shoes and ball will be available at the Utah Jazz Team Store at Vivint Smart Home Arena under your child’s name within two weeks of the training. Team Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. If you select the shipping option, shoes and basketball will be shipped within two weeks of the training.
What is Zoom and is it hard to use?
Zoom is a video communication app. It’s free and easy to use and will allow our expert coaches to connect with you and your child when participating in Camps + Clinics trainings and clinics.
