Utah Jazz Youth Announce New 3v3 Tournament and 2023 Summer Camps and Clinics Schedule

New 3v3 tournament for youth and adults to take place at Mountain America Expo Center in May; Summer camps and clinics to be held June through August

SALT LAKE CITY – April 7, 2023 – The Utah Jazz announced today an all-new 3v3 Tournament, scheduled to take place May 19-20, 2023, and also released the Utah Jazz Camps and Clinics summer schedule, with sessions taking place across Utah from June through August. Supporting their community’s love for basketball, both programs provide an encouraging environment for healthy competition, skills development, and active entertainment.

Next month on Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20, the Utah Jazz will host their new 3v3 Tournament at the Mountain America Expo Center. Different from a traditional 3v3 format, this make-it-take-it tournament features non-stop gameplay, where five teams will be on the court at the same time, with players constantly attacking and defending to score points for 30 minutes, giving all teams plenty of opportunity to participate. The cost is $299 per team, and each team will be guaranteed at least five games. Each participant will receive a Jazz t-shirt, and winning teams will receive a Utah Jazz prize pack. Participants can sign up in one of four divisions – mens, womens, girls, and boys – and find additional rules and information by visiting UtahJazz.com/3v3Tournament.

As youth across Utah and Idaho celebrate the return of summer break, the Utah Jazz Camps and Clinics summer schedule includes 13 different sessions, starting in Heber, June 1-2, and making subsequent stops in St. George (June 5-6), Utah’s brand new Shoot 360 in Lehi (June 12-13, July 24-25, and Aug. 12, 19 and 26), Farmington (June 19-20), Pocatello, Idaho (June 26-27), Provo (June 29-30), Murray (July 5-6), Logan (July 17-18), Clearfield (July 27-28), Westminster College (Aug. 1-3), and JL Sorenson Recreation Center in Herriman (Aug. 7-8).

Utah Jazz Camps and Clinics are designed for youth ages 7–17, with activities focused on proper footwork, ball handling, shooting, scoring, passing, and moving without the ball. Each summer session will teach proper warmup drills to increase mobility and reduce potential for injury. Each participant will receive a Jazz-branded backpack, a long sleeve shooting shirt, three Jazz t-shirts, a reversible Jazz jersey, and a ticket credit to a Utah Jazz game during the 2023-24 season.  Additional details and signup instructions can be found at www.utahjazzcamps.com.

“It has been our long-time privilege to help foster a passion for basketball among youth across Utah and beyond through the Jazz Youth programs,” said Nate Martinez, vice president of youth programs for the Utah Jazz. “We are excited for our Summer 2023 programming, and know that our Summer Camps and Clinics and new 3v3 Tournament will be popular outlets for athletes of all ages to continue testing their skills and having fun.”

In the coming weeks, Jazz Youth will announce additional summer programming including the Salt Lake City Summer League 3v3 Tournament and Junior Jazz Summer Road Trip.
